Robert Otis Redmond, a native of Mobile, Alabama, passed away at age 75 at home on Tuesday, March 26, 2024. He proudly served in the Army from March 1968 to February 1970 and served one year in Vietnam with the 25th Infantry Division. He worked at Kerr-McGee Chemical for 26 years as a superintendent. He had a passion for classic cars and loved traveling to different car shows.
He was preceded in death by his father Francis Redmond, his mother Pauline Redmond, and brothers Mack (Elaine) Redmond and Thomas (Mickey) Redmond. He is survived by his wife Barbara Redmond, son Jeffrey Redmond (Lauren), and daughter, Ashley Jones, his four grandchildren Katelyn Jones, Madison Redmond, Braxton Jones, and Morgan Redmond, his brother Johnny (Grace) Redmond, and nieces and nephews. Including lifelong friends Dickie Poore, Ronnie Smith, and Hooney Hinton.
Funeral services will be held from the chapel of Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 12 noon. Visitation will be 11am until service time Friday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Mobile Memorial Gardens.
