Born June 28, 1938, in Macon, Georgia, to the late Mr. Robert Franklin Reeves, Sr. and Mrs. Mary Emily Califf Judge, Robert lived a full and energetic life. In his early years he was exceptionally athletic, playing nearly every sport, he could and earning the nickname “Greasy Reeves” for his prowess on the football field. His love for the game later led him to become a high school football referee, a role he enjoyed for many years.
Robert was an avid golfer and continued to play throughout his life. He loved the beach, loved to travel, and found joy in the simple rhythms of life. Above all, he loved his family. He was their rock; the steady, stubborn, good-hearted patriarch who held everyone together. Robert took great pride in everything he owned and cared for his lawn and tools with unmatched dedication, faithfully mowing with his 40-year-old Snapper that still looked brand new. He also treasured his blue 2009 Ford F-150.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by his brother, Marshall Reeves.
Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 66 years, Harriett Reeves; his son, Keith (Tina) Reeves; daughters, Tracie (Bob) Zwitch and Paige Penn; grandchildren, Eric (Kristen) Reeves, Kyle Newberry, Taylor (GJ) Howland, Casey (Maddison) Zwitch, Jordan (Rebecca) Zwitch, and Madison (Colby) Penn; and his beloved great-grandchildren, Emma, Olivia, Ella, Madilyn, Kane, Hattie, Sophie, and Briar.
Robert leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, humor, and devotion. His memory will forever be held in the hearts of all who knew him.
