Robert Ricca Obituary
Robert G. Ricca, a cherished family man, respected engineer, and enthusiast of the great outdoors, passed away peacefully in his home on July 7, 2024, at the age of 80. Born on September 18, 1943, in Philadelphia, Robert's life was marked by dedication, warmth, and a love for life's simple pleasures. He was the son of the late Gus and Bessie (Ward) Ricca.
Robert's journey began in the vibrant neighborhoods of Philadelphia, where he grew up and later attended Bucks County Community College. There, he pursued his passion for electrical engineering, a field in which he would excel and make his mark. His career began at Standard Press Steel, taking on the role of a Machine Operator. Later, he transitioned to Milton Ray Engineering, where his expertise and diligence as an electrical engineer were evident. He dedicated many years to the company before retiring, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment.
Beyond his professional achievements, Robert's heart was truly at home with his family. He shared a beautiful and loving marriage with his wife, Jackline Oduk-Ricca. Together, they raised a family that included children: Maria Ricca, Frank Ricca and his wife Toni, Robin Ricca-Boudin, Nicole Laskey and her husband John, and Fawn Grace. Robert was a pillar of strength and love for his family, and his guidance and wisdom will be deeply missed.
His role as a grandfather brought him immense joy, and he cherished every moment spent with his grandchildren: Tori, Jimmy, Juliana, Jaden, Miranda, Eva, Colin, Billy, and Becky. Each of them held a special place in his heart, and he took great pride in their accomplishments and adventures.
Robert's interests were as rich and varied as his life. In his early years, he found serenity in gardening, cultivating a space of growth and beauty at his home. His passion for cowboy action shoots revealed his adventurous spirit and love for the camaraderie and excitement of the sport.
Robert's life was a testament to the values he held dear: family, hard work, and the pursuit of joy in every activity. His absence will be felt by all who knew him, but his memory will continue to inspire and comfort his loved ones.
Robert's departure from this world leaves behind a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will forever guide and watch over those he loved. Rest in peace, Robert; your memory will be cherished eternally.
Services: A Celebration of Life will be held at 4 P.M. on Friday, July 12, 2024, at Christ UCC, 5050 Airport Rd, Allentown, PA 18109. Robert's arrangements have been entrusted to the Cantelmi Long Funeral Home, Bethlehem. A memory tribute may be placed at www.cantelmifuneralhome.com.
