Robert Milton Rich, age 92, passed away peacefully at Ayer Valley Rehab and Nursing on February 25, 2026 after a long illness. He was born February 16, 1934, in Lynn, Massachusetts, son of the late Milton and Christine (Smith) Rich.
Robert grew up in Swampscott where he attended the local schools and was a graduate of Swampscott High School. Following graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army, serving from 1953 – 1956. He was honorably discharged as a Specialist Third Class. Robert worked as a Tool & Fabrication Engineer at GenRad, retiring in 1986.
After being introduced by a family member, Robert married Mildred Priscilla (Church) Rich on December 12, 1970 in Nova Scotia. Together, they moved to Pepperell where they raised their family and shared in over 55 years of marriage.
Robert had a mechanical mind and enjoyed working on antique87 cars. He was known to frequent area flea markets for certain year-model parts, and for working on the family vehicles. He also enjoyed walking, fishing, camping trips to Dolly Copp, road trips throughout New England, and time spent at the Rod & Gun Club.
Robert is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mildred Priscilla Rich, of Pepperell; daughter Robin Accomazzo and husband Robert of Pepperell; daughter Judith Rich of Texas; son David Scott Rich and wife Cindy (Chao) of Pepperell; and stepdaughter Geralidine Collicutt of Leominster. He was the proud ‘Grandpa Robert’ of Ryan Mauro Accomazzo and wife Gianella Veas, Jolina Mai Rich, and Scott Alan Rich. He is also survived by his brother, Charles H. Rich and his wife Mary, of Florida, and niece Candace and husband Mark Whittemore. In addition to his parents, Robert was predeceased by his sister, Carol Bradbury of California.
In keeping with Robert’s wishes, services will be private.
