Robert Anthony Richards, 93, passed on to be with the Lord on May 19, 2025. He died peacefully at Corewell Health Lakeland Hospital, St. Joseph.
Bob was born June 13, 1931, in Hazelton, Pa., to Helen and Stanley Krevitski. He graduated from Hazelton High School where he met his wife, Madelyne and married on Oct. 20, 1951. They moved to St. Joseph in 1961. He managed the Five Emprees, a local band from Benton Harbor and would often be the main coordinator for their outdoor dances in the 1960s. He was a member of the Blossomtime Queen's Committee for more than 10 years and held various positions over the years in broadcasting at WHFB, sales at Whirlpool Corp. and computer programming at Chemical Bank. He was also a member of St. John & Bernard Catholic Parish. Bob had an incredible love of music and put a smile on people's faces by creating their own customized playlists of music. He was an avid collector of music and had quite a collection of 45s, albums and CDs. He was also a devoted Detroit Lions fan where he would attend the game every year on Thanksgiving Day.
He is survived by his children: Roberta Morrison of South Bend, Ind., Donald (Laurie) Richards of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Jolene Richards of St. Joseph; loving grandfather to: Joseph, Michael and Stephen Morrison; loving uncle to Steve Krevitski. He is also survived by his loving toy poodle, Starlet.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Madelyne; his parents and his brothers: Gerald, Stanley and Raymond.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 23, at St. Bernard's Catholic Church, 555 Delaware Ave., Benton Harbor with Father John Ambrose officiating. Burial to follow in Riverview Cemetery in St. Joseph. Friends may visit from 10-11 a.m., Friday, at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society – Southwestern Michigan Yeager Family Pet Shelter. Those wishing to share a memory of Bob online may do so at www.starks-menchinger.com.

Thank you for the hundreds of condolences and memories shared of my father. Reaching out to the family via Facebook, especially the Five Emprees Fans has brought such a validation of what a wonderful man he was. I am also grateful to all my wonderful coworkers (past and present) that took the time to be of comfort.
