Robert L Rishel

Robert L. "Bob" Rishel, 81, of Latrobe, entered into his eternal rest on Tuesday, August 20, 2024. Born on July 3, 1943, in Spring Mills, he was the son of the late M. L. Robert and Ruth B. (Caris) Rishel. More than 20 years ago, Bob met Mary Jane Geary, his partner in life, who survives.
Bob graduated from Penns Valley High School. He worked as a Regional Sales Representative for Toro for over 30 years before he retired in 2020. He also owned his own business in the Penns Valley Area called Rishel Sales & Service, specializing in lawn and garden equipment, for more than 20 years.
Bob was always known to be a hard worker. He was willing to lend a hand and help anyone in any way that he could. He was kind and independent, never wanting to burden anyone. Many that knew him compared him to Mr. C off of the television show, Happy Days. He will be greatly missed by so many.
Along with his partner, Mary Jane, Bob is survived by his daughter, Ruthann M. Rishel of Palmyra; his granddaughter, Nicole Grenoble and her husband, Zach, of Carlisle; five great grandchildren; one sister, Mary Isobel Hosterman and her husband, Glenn, of Aaronsburg; and his sister in-law, Doris Rishel, Martin's wife, of Belleville.
Along with his parents, Bob was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Raquel Rishel and three siblings, Miriam Breon, Martin C. Rishel, and an infant brother.
A viewing will be held at the Barbara Daughenbaugh Funeral Home, Inc in Centre Hall on Sunday, August 25, 2024, from 5pm – 7pm. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Monday, August 26, 2024 at 10am with Pastor Lauretta Dietrich officiating, followed by a graveside service at the St. John's Union Cemetery in Farmers Mills.
