Robert Ritter Obituary
Robert Peter Ritter, 82, of Catskill, NY, passed away on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at his daughter’s home surrounded by family in Kingston, NY. He was born on February 1, 1942, in Catskill, NY, son of the late Peter and Helen (Breunig) Ritter. He was married to his loving wife of 64 years, Margaret (MaGinn) Ritter.
Robert was a graduate of St. Patrick’s Catholic School in Catskill. His father established Ritter’s Garage in Catskill, NY, in the 1940’s. Robert later worked with his father for many years, taking over the business in 1976. He was a member of the Lions Club of Catskill.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret “Peggy” Ritter of Catskill, NY, his daughter, Helena Ritter DeSalvo and her husband Steve of Kingston, NY, his grandchildren, Daniel J. DeSalvo and his wife Alyssa and Emilie M. DeSalvo, and his great grandchildren, Jaxon, Grayce, and Eleanore DeSalvo. In addition to his parents he is predeceased by his brother, Dr. Joseph Ritter.
Arrangements entrusted to Keyser Funeral & Cremation Service, 326 Albany Avenue, Kingston, NY 12401, where family and friends may visit on Tuesday June 4, 2024, from 4pm to 7pm. A private funeral will take place on Wednesday and burial will be in St. Patrick’s Cemetery, Catskill, NY.
