Robert Rizas

Robert Edward Rizas was born April 15, 1939 to Thomas and Leona Rizas. He spent a glorious childhood in Neptune where he and his five siblings lived and loved. Butch, or the "Falcon" which he was proudly called, lived up to his nicknames. His tales of his younger years were often laced with mischief which he loved to recount. Everyone in his circle, and those beyond it, had a nickname. He bestowed the monikers "The Boss", "Roscoe" and "Greenie" upon his grandchildren. When he used these to refer to them it was always with love and a grin on his face.
He was a proud man. He built his first home before he was 25 years of age, and continued to create and build masterpieces for his family and business. He always lived in a house built by his own hands. He was a master craftsman who spent hours in his workshop, Falcon Millwork, building high quality furniture for family, friends and clients. He worked tirelessly to achieve a level of perfection in all that he did.
His pride for Neptune was most evident when he ran and was elected mayor. He gave back the town he grew up in and to the residents. He never forgot his roots.
Robert also had tremendous pride for his heritage. Although only half Greek, according to him one drop of Greek blood made you 100% Greek. There were many Greek meals served at home with dimotki music on the stereo, followed by dancing.
His greatest love was his wife Patti. Robert and she traveled, dined and hosted many friends throughout their lives together. Patti's passing last year created a hole in his heart that would never mend. Their 59th wedding anniversary is November 23rd.
Stefanie and Alexandra would like to thank Nina for the loving care she provided for their father.
In addition to friends and family, Robert leaves behind to cherish and honor his memory his beloved daughters Stefanie (husband Kevin), Stacey and Alexandra as well as his dear grandchildren, Leigh Kelsey, Dylon and Nikolaos.
