Robert Robbins was born on December 31, 1943, in Suffern, New York, to Robert and Eileen Robbins. He graduated from Haverstraw-Stony Point Central High School in 1961. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marian Ryan Robbins, and two sons, Lance, his wife, Justine Robbins of New City, New York, and Edwin Robbins of Chicago, Illinois; and his Grandchildren, Marisa and Brendan Robbins. He is the oldest of four siblings and is survived by Bill and his wife Donna of Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, Chris and his wife Maryellen of Pinehurst, North Carolina, and Claudia Ossman of Stony Point, New York, as well as several nieces and nephews. Bob graduated from Rockland Community College in 1991 with an associate degree in Advertising-Graphic Arts. Through the years, he owned several businesses, including Lane's Deli and Signs and Designs in Stony Point, New York. A lifelong sports fan, Bob coached several of his son Ed's little league teams and made it a tradition for the two of them to go to Yankees Opening Day each year. Bob also had many hobbies and interests over the years, including model railroading, RC planes, photography, painting, golf, fly fishing, and sailing. Vacations in National Parks, Europe, and Africa provided lifelong happy memories. He was actively involved in the Stony Point Democratic Party, serving as party chairman and chairman of the Town of Stony Point Planning Board. Bob was an animal lover his whole life, and over the years, he provided a loving home to 9 rescue dogs and cats. He is survived by his most recent rescue dog, Jill. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 15, 2024 from 2pm-6pm at TJ McGowan Sons Funeral Home in Garnerville, NY. Services will be held on Monday, December 16, 2024, 11am at the funeral home followed by interment at Mt. Repose Cemetery, Haverstraw, NY. In lieu of flowers the family asks that memorial donations be made in memory of Bob to the local Hudson Valley Humane Society, 200 Quaker Road, Pomona, NY 10970, or any other animal rescue society.
