Robert Dwayne Roberson

Robert "Dwayne" Roberson was born March 23, 1952 in Mound City, Illinois to the union of Noel

R. Roberson Sr. and Rosie L. (Barrow) Roberson. He was preceded in death by his parents,

three brothers, two sisters, one step daughter, his wife Shawn R. Roberson and his first born

son Corey Dwayne Walls. Dwayne graduated from Meridian Senior High School in Mounds,

Illinois in 1970. In 1974, Dwayne received a bachelors of science in Sociology and Health

Education from Oral Roberts University. Dwayne received a second bachelor's degree in

Education Administration from Metropolitan State College in 1986. Dwayne honorably served in

the U.S. Army for four years as a Behavioral Science Specialist and Chaplain Assistant. He

retired from the Department of Justice Federal Bureau of Prisons after 25 years and 9 months of

Federal service.

To cherish his loving memory, Dwayne leaves: two sons, Robert Dwayne Roberson II of Aurora,

Colorado and Robert Dwayne Copeland of Colorado Springs, Colorado; two daughters, Rachel

D. Roberson, Ph.D. of Portland, Oregon and Rebecca D. Roberson of Westminster, Colorado;

one step daughter, Katie McLemore of Tacoma, Washington; as well as eight grandchildren,

two step grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Donald Roberson of Burkburnett,

Texas and Alford Roberson of Mounds, Illinois, and two sisters Margaret Floyd of Rochester,

New York and Roziene Dumas of Villa Ridge, Illinois; as well as a host of nieces, nephews,

cousins, relatives, and many friends.
