Robert Robertson Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Cremations of the Ozarks - Hollister on Apr. 2, 2025.
Robert Lee "Bob" Robertson, age 85, of Hollister, Missouri, passed away March 29, 2025, at home with family nearby. He entered this life June 27, 1939, in Fulton, Missouri, the son of George and Inez (Cheney) Robertson.
Bob, as he preferred to be called, excelled at many things in his lifetime. In his youth he played a variety of sports including baseball for a Missouri Championship Junior League. He never lost the ability to throw a mean knuckle ball. He grew up on the greens of a golf course. Working as a caddy from a kid to a teenager he learned the game well and played it throughout his life.
As a teenager he discovered billiards. Fascinated by mathematics, he taught himself and mastered the game as he did with bowling. Always searching for new interests, he found archery which led him to three national titles.
Driven for more challenge Bob discovered fly fishing and that brought him to the beauty of the Ozarks. He fell in love with the unspoiled beauty of the mountains and the people. He made Reeds Spring, Missouri his family's permanent home in 1971. It was there he felt the freedom to pursue his dream to become a professional artist. With the love and support of his family Bob became a nationally recognized wood and bronze sculptor. Three American Presidents own Robert Robertson pieces. Some of his work can be viewed in national museums. The beauty of his life's work which he leaves with us is a true Legacy.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ruth Robertson; daughter, Darice Robertson; and two brothers: Kurt and Jaky Robertson.
Bob is survived by his daughter, Shelia Dietz of Nixa, Missouri; granddaughter, Alix Dietz and Ron Hawkins of Nixa, Missouri; two great-grandchildren: Phoenix and Archer; dear friends: Barb and Denise; along with many other friends and extended family.
A celebration of life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 13th 2025, at The Rock House Center for the Arts, located at 22173 Main St Reeds Spring, MO. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to The Rock House Center for the Arts. Arrangements and cremation are under the direction of Cremations of the Ozarks.
