Robert "Camillus" Robinson died suddenly on November 29, 2024 he was the beloved son of Eileen and Camillus Robinson. Camillus was born on August 23, 1977 in Lynchburg where he grew up.
He and his brother and sister spent countless hours running through the woods and swimming in Timberlake. He graduated from Brookville High School. Camillus graduated from Virginia Commonwealth University with a BA in English Literature, and a master's degree in Fine Arts.
He had spent the last 17 years working at Norfolk and Southern, a job he really enjoyed. He began with Norfolk and Southern in Chicago. He and his wife loved the museums and all the amenities the big city had to offer.
Camillus' first love was writing; he was most proud of his first book , "Chicago Swan Song: Diary of A Chicago Mob Wife." He considered himself to be an organized crime historian, and he had been used by film makers and authors as a source to substantiate facts and stories about organized crime.
He is survived by his mother, Eileen Robinson; his sister, Cecilia Hadiji, her husband, Nessim; a niece, Noelle whom he loved dearly; and his brother Christian Robinson. Camillus had been preceded in death by the love of his life, Ginny Eib, and his father Robert Camillus Robinson, Sr.
The family is planning a celebration of Camillus' life at his mother's house, 600 Wexview Lane, Lynchburg, VA, on Saturday, December 7th, 2024, to begin at 1:00 p.m.. In lieu of flowers please send donations to animal rescue groups.
Tharp Funeral Home & Crematory, Lynchburg is assisting the family.
