Bob was born on March 13, 1953 at San Antonio Community Hospital to the late Migueland Margaret Romo. He passed away on March 3, 2024 surrounded by his family athome. Bob grew up in Fontana, attended local schools until graduating from Fontana High School (FOHI) in 1971. Bob met and married his high school sweetheart VickieRequejo on February 10, 1973. They recently celebrated 51 years of marriage.As a boy Bob dreamed of being a fireman. Prior to achieving his dream he workednumerous jobs as a cook, bus driver, built trailers and west end maintenance worker atKaiser Steel. In 1976 he became a Reserve Fireman for the City of Rialto becoming a fulltime Fireman in 1978. Promoting through the ranks he retired as Fire Captain in 2011 after34 years of dedicated service. Bob had a love for people and a heart of gold, receivingnumerous letters and calls from the community he served, regarding his excellentcustomer service.Bob loved spending time with his wife, 3 children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.He enjoyed taking them to his river home, going on nature walks and out to Wendy’s forfrosties.Bob was passionate about auto and fire apparatus restoration. He loved car shows, bikeriding, and creating as well as building new projects in his garage. He restored his highschool car, a 1956 Chevy and was in the works of restoring a 1961 Biscayne. He drovehis 1940 Ford Deluxe to car shows and SUNDAY DONUT GANG. He enjoyed his timewith his best friend Wayne Teves and brothers Mike and Ron with their restored cars.Bob is survived by his wife Vickie, children Chadd (Kristy), Regina, Daniel (Eva), 10grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. He will be deeply missed. His favorite sayingwas “Making deposits in the bank of public relations”.A Celebration of Life will be held April 6, 2024 from 11 am to 4 pm at the Teamsters Local63, 955 Bloomington Ave. Bloomington, California.
