Robert Glenn Rose, 78, of Stephenville, passed away on Wednesday, February 18, 2026.
Robert was born on November 6, 1947, in Fort Worth, to the late Clifford McNeal and Lalla Joyce Batchelor Rose. He lived in Goldthwaite, TX, until the mid 50’s, when the family moved to Midland, TX. He started school there and graduated from Midland High School. Shortly after graduation he joined the United States Air Force, and was stationed at Dyess Air Force Base, in Abilene. He served tours in England and two years in Vietnam.
After leaving the Air Force he lived in several places until he returned home to Midland. Robert went to Texas Tech for a couple of years and later moved to Stephenville where he worked for Wolfe Nursery, and he later went to work at Norton Abrasives (Saint-Gobain) in 1977, until he retired.
Robert loved to hunt. He was a member of the Stephenville Bass Club for several years before he and several others started the Erath County Bass Club. He was also a director of TABC.
The last four years of Robert life was spent in and out of hospitals and nursing home. His happy place was his home on Pigeon Road, and his deer lease in Comanche County, that he had for over ten years. Before Robert died, he got to spend a couple of weeks at his lease.
Robert is survived by his brother, Ronnie and wife Betty Rose; nephews and nieces, Randy and wife Kandy, Racheal Hunt, Kaylee and husband Louis Diaz, Brooklynn Fergason, and Kamron Rose; great niece, Riley Diaz
Besides his parents, Robert was also preceded in death by a niece, Sheila.
No memorial service is planned at this time.
