Robert J. Rozmarenowski (81) of Denmark Wisconsin, died peacefully with family at his side on November 21, 2025. He was the son of Jerome (Harry) and Henrietta (VanVenRoy) Rozmarynowski, born on “the 8th day, 2nd month, 1944”. He was born and raised on the family farm in Langes Corners with 8 siblings, where he learned how to hunt and fish. Robert’s love of outdoor work and recreation was a theme throughout his life.
Robert graduated from Denmark High School and was a lifelong learner, self-taught and through coursework. He began his construction career learning from his father and brother Donnie and with local excavating companies. He was a heavy equipment operator with the Brown County Highway Commission for 30 years, based at the Langes Corners, Duck Creek, and Greenleaf shops, learning from mentors and teaching the new guys. Robert also operated his independent company, Roz Excavating, for 15 years. Robert enjoyed driving around Brown and all of the nearby counties to discuss the finer points of his work on roads, bridges, overpasses, ditches, boat launches, parking lots, and countless farmsteads. He had many snow removal stories, some involving family and friends. Robert had expert spatial perception and analytical skills and could quickly create the best solution from limited options. He knew where water needed to go, and how to get it there.
Robert joined the Marine Reserves with his buddy Dale, initiating a lifetime of international and domestic travel. He enjoyed adventures, including fishing locally and in Canada, deer hunting throughout the area, visiting family and friends in Europe and many states, train and boat rides, and local travel to Door County and Up North. He regularly appeared with tools in hand, ready to assist with planned home and yard projects or immediate emergencies. Robert enjoyed interior and exterior construction, carpentry, landscape design, “going for a ride”, and a good game of Sheepshead.
Robert married JoAnn Kraynik from the Stangelville Wisconsin area on November 5 1966 and they recently celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary. They had two children, Michelle and Michael. Robert, JoAnn, and their friends and family built their home in 1973 and later added a barn and garden shed. The family travelled throughout the United States in a variety of “good deal” vehicles he acquired at auctions or other sources – he was always looking for good deals and sharing his finds.
Robert and JoAnn worked together to support their home and family, collaborating on home improvement and garden projects. They also helped family and friends with their own building and landscape projects. After a good day’s work, they enjoyed visiting in their own home and others and at various supper clubs and local places. They also cared for friends and family when needed and kept a collection of dogs and cats. Robert was a member of All Saints Church and a 20-year member of the Denmark Lions Club.
Robert was a hard worker and a good guy. He valued spending time with his lifelong friends Dale, Ronnie, Bob, and Nobby. Robert enjoyed teasing. He liked to eat, especially JoAnn’s carrot cake.
Robert will be deeply missed by his survivors: wife JoAnn, children Michelle (Tim) McDaniel and Michael (Chantel); siblings Betty Gajewski, Richard (Betty) Rozek, Bonita Rozmarynowski, and Rita (Tom) Stankevitz; in-laws Delores Rozmarynowski, Theresa Rozmarenowski, Doug (Joan) Kraynik, Michael Kraynik, Patrick (Diane) Kraynik, Priscilla (David) Bierke, Cheri Kraynik Mitchell, many nieces and nephews and extended family members.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Mary Ann DeGrave, Donald Rozmarynowski, Raphael Rozmarenowski, and Karen VanDeHey; in-laws Ronald DeGrave, Gerald Gajewski, Paul VanDeHey, and many neighbors and friends.
Family and friends may visit at Cotter Funeral Home- Denmark Chapel (536 County Road R, Denmark) on Friday, November 28, from 9:00am until the time of service at 12:00pm.
The family thanks Drs. W. Michael Cross and Jason Hoppe, and the Prevea Health (Webster Clinic) and HSHS St. Vincent Hospital teams for a lifetime of good care. Thank you also to the care teams at Grancare, Odd Fellows, and Unity Meng Residence in making him safe and comfortable.
If desired, please send donations to the Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary, NEW Zoo or Kewaunee County Bruemmer Park Zoo. Robert liked the local places.
