Robert J. Rymarz, 89, Prairie du Chien, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on September 24, 2025. He was born August 15, 1936 in Milwaukee, the son of Ann and John Rymarz.

Bob served in the Army as a driver and mechanic with an honorable discharge in 1961. In September 1963, Bob married Audrey Krahn in Milwaukee where they started their family, raising three sons: Rick, Mike, and Jim. They moved to Bagley in 1973 and shortly thereafter to their current residence in Prairie du Chien. Bob and Audrey co-owned and operated Jellystone Campground in Bagley for more than 23 years. Bob also worked at 3M in Prairie du Chien for 21 years of service, retiring in 1996.

He was the biggest fan of his sons and could be heard making friends with someone new in the grandstands while watching his boys' race, proudly sharing "that's my boy!" Bob and Audrey always had a dog nearby, and Bob was known as a dog whisperer in that every dog he met seemed to instantly adore him! He never met a stranger as he could relate to anything and talk for hours with someone that started a conversation with him. There was a genuine kindness that touched everyone he met. He was caring, sweet, and effortlessly warm-hearted. To know him was to love him and everyone who had the privilege of knowing Bob was a better person for it.

Bob started his love of cars at a young age, building hot rods and race cars, owning an auto service station, passing that love of cars on to his sons and grandkids. He enjoyed building anything and everything for anyone that needed something, whether he did it for you or would help guide you on how to do it yourself. As a family friend shared, the valuable things he taught everyone he knew will live on as his legacy. His skill of machining and welding carried over to his hobby of making toy sculptures after retirement, creating spark plug people, dragsters, airplanes, motorcycles, robots, and animals.

Bob will be missed dearly by his children Rick (Terry), Mike (Jackie) and Jim (Nickey), his grandchildren Cole, Jace, and Ashlee Jo, his sister Pat George, his niece Rene' (Allen) Ohm, and his nephews, Ken (Lizy) George and Bill George. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey, in 2014, along with his parents and brother-in-law Ken George.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Agrace Hospice (Lindsey, Dani, Jodi, Andrea, and Kelly) for the compassionate care provided during Bob's final weeks, as well as to his dedicated private caregivers, Tara Bright and Sue Martinez, whose kindness and support brought great comfort to the entire family.

Funeral Services will be Monday, September 29, 2025, at 11:00 A.M. at the Garrity Funeral Home Chapel, Fr. Thomas Huff officiating with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the Garrity Funeral Home on Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 1:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. and also at the funeral home on Monday from 10:00 A.M. until the time of service.
