Robert Sayers Obituary
The family moved to Sweet Home, Oregon in 1976. Robert attended Foster Elementary, Sweet Home Junior High, and Sweet Home High School where he was a varsity wrestler, graduating in 1992. After high school, Robert traveled the United States working for Columbia Helicopters before returning to Sweet Home in 2001. He worked for Rice Logging until his retirement in 2019.
Robert enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, rock hounding, wood cutting and stacking, and taking meticulous care of his yard. The youngest of 10 siblings, Robert loved to spend time with his family. He married his wife Terra in 2024, and enjoyed many loyal, life-long friendships.
Robert is survived by his wife, Terra (Blank) Sayers of Sweet Home; step-daughter Avery Nelson of Sweet Home; mother Evonne Sayers of Sweet Home; brother Gary Sayers and wife Nancy Glasgow of Stuart, Florida; brother Danny Sayers and wife Ruth; sister Ruthann (Sayers) Killian and husband Mark; sister Mary (Sayers) Keenon and husband Lonnie; brother Frank Sayers, all of Sweet Home; and thirteen nieces and nephews. Robert was preceded in death by his father Robert Sayers; brother David Sayers; sister Judith (Sayers) Wirth; brother Donald Sayers; and sister Kerri (Sayers) Blachly.
A memorial service will be held on January 3rd at 1:00 PM at the Jim Riggs Community Center. All who knew and loved Robert are welcome to attend Sweet Home Funeral Chapel is handling arrangements. www.sweethomefuneral.com
