Robert Emanuel Schafer was born on March 17, 1935, to Emanuel and Emma Schafer. Bob had 2 younger brothers, Jerry and George. Robert married Joyce Evelyn Schultz, and had 3 children: Debbie, Diane, and Robert. He also has 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.
Bob worked for Town pipe, Interstate Heavy Hauling and then Blitz Weinhard, from which he retired. Bob often would take one of the kids on his road trip. Even though Bob was retired, he still loved to drive a truck and would haul race cars for his friends.
Bob served in the Naval Reserve.
Bob Loved the outdoors, he loved fishing, hunting and clam digging. After a hard week of work, Bob rushed home to pack the truck and head to the coast. Often, he would look at the tide booked to see when the best tide would be! He would never miss the opening day of Deer or Elk season! Truly an outdoors man.
Bob loved telling stories about his adventures in life, where he travelled, who he met, and the size of the fish he caught.
Bob loved playing the accordion.
Bob would always drop what he was doing to help others. He loved helping and spending time with friends and family.

I´ve been his Rodent for 50+ years! Yep that was his nickname! I have no idea why but it stuck, all these years! He would bring my BBF (Diane) in his beer truck and drop her off to visit you are the best second Dad EVER! Thank you for all the family fun, laughs, entertainment, the hunting and fishing stories we shared, the smoked salmon was always delicious! I am grateful for meeting your daughter and Joyce on the way to first grade. Your families always been kind, gracious, grateful, and known conditional. You are loved by so many people and you will be missed. Love you, dad
