Robert Schmidt Obituary
Robert "Bob" L. Schmidt, age 77, passed away on October, 14, 2024. Bob was born on January 12, 1947 in Columbus, Ohio to the late Robert J. and Margil Schmidt.
Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his daughter Mindi Schmidt Lyman.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Ann Schmidt, his son, Theo (Cathie) Schmidt, his step-sons, Dan Longerbone and Mark (Marie) Longerbone, his step-daughter, Elizabeth Longerbone, his sister, Rita Schmidt, his grandchildren, Hannah (Pulse) Hamilton, Madison Pulse, Garrett Lyman, Alex (Alexis) Tierney, Leah Schmidt, Ethan Schmidt, Annabelle Brock, Francesca Longerbone, Sky Geovanni, Jet Geovanni, Jemma Jacobus, and his great-granddaughter, Kahlia Turner.
Bob was a 1965 graduate of Columbus West High School. He was an employee for 40 years with the Columbus Division of Fire. He retired with the rank of Battalion Chief. He loved drag racing, traveling - having visited 58 countries, OSU football, and spending time with his family.
He will be deeply missed.
Family and friends may call on Tuesday, October 22, 2024 at Newcomer SW Chapel, 3393 Broadway Grove City, Ohio 43123 from 4pm-7pm for calling hours with a funeral service starting at 7pm.
