Robert R. Schmidt of Ft. Mitchell, KY passed away on November 23rd, 2025. He passed away a few weeks prior to what would have been his 85th birthday. Robert’s soul is surrounded by family and loved ones on his journey.
Robert was born in Covington, KY to the late Dorothy and Ray Schmidt. He proudly served in the Air Force during the Vietnam War. Following his service, Robert spent his career as a lab tech and formulator for the P&G corporation.
Robert’s love for family was evident in all aspects of his life. He was always willing and eager to help in any way he could. Whether it was cheering from the sidelines at a grandchild’s soccer game, hosting large family dinners or simply offering a listening ear, Robert was the heart of the family.
He is survived by his loving wife Susan Schmidt (nee Saalfeld). Robert’s incredible legacy will live on in their children Dan (Glenda) Schmidt, Missie (Don) Lunnemann and Rob (Ashley) Schmidt. Robert is also survived by his grandchildren Drew, Jake, Rylee, Robbie and Peyton.
Robert is also survived by his brother Roy Schmidt and sister Marilyn Groneck. He was preceded in death by his brother Jack Schmidt and his sister Evelyn Bales.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025 from 9-10am at Blessed Sacrament Church, 2409 Dixie Hwy, Ft. Mitchell, KY 41017. Mass of Christian burial will take place following the visitation at 10am at Blessed Sacrament Church. Interment will be at St. John cemetery. Memorial donations are suggested to go to BAWAC and St. Elizabeth Hospice Program.
