Robert H. Schmidt was a pharmacist who worked in Oklahoma for 10 years and in Topeka, Kansas for 30 years.
He was born in Hobart, Oklahoma on March 28, 1944. He lived in Lone Wolf, Oklahoma where he graduated high school in 1962. He graduated from Southwestern State College (now Southwestern Oklahoma State University) in Weatherford, Oklahoma with a B.S. degree in pharmacy.
He served in the Army from 1968 to 1970 – the last year in the Republic of South Vietnam. He was awarded the Army Commendation Medal and the Bronze Start Medal while in Vietnam.
He is survived by one son, Christopher R. Schmidt, a sister Risa L. (Steve) Powell, and a nephew, Tyler D. Powell.
He was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Topeka. A memorial service will be held on Monday, January 12, 2026 at Our Savior’s. The visitation will start at 10AM and the service will be at 11AM.
