Robert Joseph Seelinger

Robert "Bob" Joseph Seelinger, 89, of Fredericksburg, passed away on Thursday, November 13, 2025, with his sons by his side. He was born in Edmond, West Virginia, to Roy and Merle Seelinger and he married the late June Eagle in April 1959.

As his name implies, Bob was a builder and between coal mining and carpentry work, he built four homes for his family with his own hands. He was devoted to Christ's teachings and was a peaceful, gentle man who was a role model to many. He lovingly cared for June in her later years until she passed in 2024; she often said they had never had a single argument in 65 years of marriage and that she had the best husband in the world.

Survivors include his sons, Andrew (Helena), Douglas (Kim), and Kevin (Chrissy) Seelinger; grandchildren, Joshua, Zachary, and Jacob Seelinger, Kaitlin Coles, Jessica Slater, Allison Ryan, Emily Wallace, Lauren Richards, Jennifer, Benjamin, and Kristen Seelinger, and Luke, Sarah, and Hannah Seelinger; and great-grandchildren, Jack and Elli Coles, Brooks and Evelyn Slater, Lucas and Amelia Seelinger, Hazel Richards, Theo Seelinger, Elijah Wallace, and Owen Ryan. Bob always enjoyed returning to WV for the summer family reunion to see his siblings, John Seelinger, Nancy Crist, Betty Lehman, and Pam Seelinger.

He was preceded in death by his siblings, Jack Seelinger and Geraldine Todd.

A service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at Eley's Ford Baptist Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
