Robert William Shaffer

Robert William Shaffer, age 95, of passed away Monday, March 2, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was born April 23, 1930 the son of Furd and Helen (Grimes) Shaffer in Palmer, Pennsylvania. He graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1948. He served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. Robert met the love of his life Doreen Maria Campeau and they were married on September 17, 1951 in Winchester, West Virginia. He worked as a tool and die maker, and machine repairman at Chrysler Corporation.

Robert was an active member of the Leonard Community Church serving as the treasurer and taught Sunday School. He was very proud of maintaining his home, garden and flowers. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his loving family.

Robert is survived by his beloved wife Dorren of 74 years, loving son Robert "Jeff" Shaffer and Terry Shaffer of Leonard.

Robert is preceded in death by his sibling Ace Shaffer and Janice Robinson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 5, 2026 from 3:00 - 8:00pm with the Celebration of Life Service held on Friday, March 6, 2026 at 10am with viewing at 9:00am and followed by a Banquet all at Muir Funeral Home & Celebration of Life Center, 2650 S. Van Dyke-Imlay City, MI 48444. Burial will be made at Lakeville Cemetery.
