Robert S. Sharples

Robert S. Sharples, age 96, a longtime resident of Chelmsford, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of the late Verna B. (Sowle) Sharples with whom he shared 72 years of marriage until her passing in 2024.
He was born in Fall River on January 30, 1928 and was the son of the late Robert and Mildred (Kessel) Sharples.
Robert was a kind hearted and generous man who loved helping others. He was a US Army veteran awarded the WWII Victory Medal and Army of Occupation Medal Japan. Robert was a Master Mason for 61 years. He was employed by New England Telephone & AT&T for 40 years and retired as a district manager. Robert was a Red Sox and Patriots fan and an avid coin collector. He loved directing variety shows at his local church and teaching Sunday School.
Robert leaves his son, Robert Sharples and his wife Debra Tursini-Sharples and his daughter, Lisa Sharples. He had 2 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by his daughter, Donna Faro, and his grandson, Corey Sharples.
Visiting hours will be held on Monday, January 6, 2025 from 4 pm to 6 pm at the BLAKE CHELMSFORD FUNERAL HOME, 24 Worthen Street, CHELMSFORD. His funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2025, at 11am at All Saints' Episcopal Church, 10 Billerica Rd., Chelmsford. KINDLY GATHER AT THE CHURCH. Interment to follow in Pine Ridge Cemetery, Chelmsford.
Memorial donations may be made in Robert's name to All Saints' Episcopal Church.
