Robert F. Shaw Jr., age 81, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 24, 2024, with his loving family by his side.

Robert was a proud member of the Carpenters Union Local #174 for 58 years and 10 months. He was also very involved in the Boy Scouts of America, serving as a Troop Leader for many years. Buzzy was truly cherished by those who were blessed to have shared their lives with him. He was a sweet, kind, and giving soul, always ready to lend a hand, share a smile, and quick with a joke to try to brighten someone’s day. He was very fond of attending various war reenactments, especially with the Scouts. He loved going to Homecut Donuts or the Donut Den to hang out with his friends. Another of his favorite stops was his local Thornton’s station where he knew the entire crew by name and loved to just talk and help the day go by a little easier. He is so truly missed and loved by so many!

Robert was preceded in death by his father, Robert Shaw Sr.; mother, Evelyn M. (nee Hill) Shaw; and his uncle, Alan Hill.

He is survived by his daughter, Richelle M. Fernandez; son, Thomas (Brandy) Craig; grandchildren, Gabrielle Craig, Yesenia (Chris Burrell) Craig, Damon Gutierrez, Tommy Craig, Skylar Craig, and Kayla Craig; great grandchildren, Gabrianna Anderson, Faith Anderson, Romeo Burrell, RayannaRoyalty Daniels and Remiyah Burrell, as well as many extended family members and friends.

Robert will be laid to rest at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Joliet on Friday, November 15, 2024 at 12:00 p.m.
