Robert Earl Shell, age 89, of
Milton, Florida, passed away Thursday evening, January 23, 2025, while at Pruitt Health. Robert was born on February 15, 1935, in Dixonville, Alabama and was one of nine children born to Charles Edmond Shell and Aldora Hammac Shell.
He was predeceased by his parents and eight of his siblings; Marie Cassidy, Dorothy Rice, Helon McDaniel, Pauline Wolfe, Charles Edmond Shell Jr., Imogene Wallace, and Ruby Henderson.
Robert married his High School sweetheart, Lydia Inease Beasley. They lived and raised three children while living in
Milton, Florida and were together for 27 years. After Lydia's passing and many years later, Robert found a second chance at happiness when he married Willodean Allen. They were married for 7 years before Willodean's passing.
A dedicated employee, Robert, enjoyed a 35-year career with Monsanto working in various departments, and retired from the Vydyne division. Outside of his professional life, Robert had a great passion for fishing, camping, traveling and bird watching. He particularly enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoying a meal with them.
Robert was affectionally known as "Grandaddy Bud" by his grandchildren, as well as his own children. Although visits were limited by distance, He enjoyed spending time with them throughout the years and watching them become amazing young adults. Robert's grandchildren are Olivia Harber, Grayson and his wife Sarah Harber, and Wayne Shell. Robert was a member Community of Christ Church. He served as an active member and deacon for many years. Robert is survived by his three children; Susan Shell Harber and husband Mike, Paula Shell, and David Shell; and one brother, Doyle Shell and his wife Lynn.
A Graveside Service will be held on January 29, 2025, at Serenity Gardens, 6208 Stewart Street
Milton, FL 32570, at 11:00am.
The pallbearers will be David Shell, Charlie McDonald, Keith Sims and Mike Harber.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Jenny Reeves, a very special caregiver; the staff of "Beehive Homes Assisted Living" where Robert lived for the last two years, for their kindness and care; and to the staff of "Pruitt Health" during his brief rehabilitation stay.
