Bob was born on October 17, 1930, in Chauncey, Ohio to Charles Shields and Hazel Shields. He was the owner and operator of Shields Meats, and a member of the Farm Bureau.
Surviving are his son, Carl Eugene Shields; daughter-in-law, Brenda Sue Shields; grandson, Shawn Allen (Karii) Shields; granddaughters, Jodi "Missy" Shields, Crystal Dawn Shields, and Jacki Lynn Shields; great-grandchildren, Wayne Pierce, Dylan Crabbe, Shadd Rooker, Stephan Rooker, Alaina Reedy, Samantha Reedy, Josie Shields, and Ian Shields; and great-great-grandchildren, Jaxson Rooker, Mia Rooker, and Kane Chevalier.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Hazel Cavinee; wife, Carlene Shields; sons, Thomas Leslie Shields and Lester Earl Shields; and daughter-in-law, Zena Shields.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 P.M., Monday, October 27, 2025, at the Heinlein-Brown Funeral Home, Logan, Ohio with Rev. Diora Edgel officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Memorial Gardens, Rockbridge, Ohio.
Calling hours will be observed 11 A.M. to 1 P.M. on Monday, October 27, 2025, at the funeral home.
