Robert John Sikora, known fondly as "Bob," passed away peacefully on June 4, 2024. A beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Bob is survived by his wife, Mary Kathryn, his son Scott and daughter-in-law Barbara Sikora, daughter Tracy and son-in-law Mike Diehl, and son Nick Sikora, as well as sister Marcia and her husband Bill Kelly. Bob was also a proud and loving "Pop Pop" to his 7 grandchildren Ashley, Amber, Becca Sikora, Sam, Max, Gus, Delaney Diehl, and great-granddaughter Jovi Diehl, whom he was blessed to be able to meet before his passing.
Bob grew up in Pottstown, PA, where he met the love of his life, Mary Kay. Furthering his education, Bob went on to attend Perkiomen Prep School and later Lafayette College. After graduation, Bob and Mary Kay settled in Coatesville, PA. where he worked for Lukens Steel. As his career in the steel industry grew, he relocated his family to Vancouver, WA. where he retired as the President and Chief Operating Officer of Oregon Steel Mills. Bob was known for his fairness, generosity, and compassion. He always believed in supporting his employees.
After retirement, Bob volunteered his time coaching football at Skyview High School. As well as traveling across states to watch his grandchildren participate in various sporting events, birthdays, graduations, and weddings. He valued each grandchild equally, making sure they all knew how much he loved them.
Later in life, Bob and Mary Kay became full-time residents of Apache Junction, AZ. There he enjoyed golfing, Saturday lunches with the guys, and laying by the pool chatting with his friends. He and Mary Kay formed an extended family with the amazing couples they met, where Mary Kay will continue to live.
Sadly, Bob passed just short of their 60th wedding anniversary, a testament to his and Mary Kay's enduring partnership.
Bob's oldest granddaughter once wrote: "My grandpop, Robert, is my hero. He makes the rainbow glow and the sun shine." This sentiment captures the essence of Bob's life, and the love he shared with all who knew him.
Honoring his request, there will be no services.
