Robert Steve Simmons, Jr.

Robert Steve Simmons, Jr., AKA “Sporty”, 66, of Matoaca, VA, went to be with the lord on Friday, September 20, 2024. He was born on January 23, 1958 to Helen Thomason Simmons & the late Robert Steve Simmons, Sr. He is survived by his wife, Sarah Lowman Simmons; his sister, Lisa Howerton (Bart); his daughter, Ashley Klimek; his stepdaughters, Morgan Ellis and Kendall Ellis; and his grandchildren, Gavin Klimek, Owen Klimek, and Bella Klimek. 

Steve was a graduate of Matoaca High School class of 1976. Throughout his life, he worked at Matoaca Supermarket and Matoaca Exxon. He loved any type of water activities, especially taking his boats out on the lake or the river. He also enjoyed dancing, traveling to different places, golfing, and spending time with family and friends. He was a free spirit that had an adventurous soul and never met a stranger. Steve had a heart of gold & quick wit. Everyone who was lucky to know him loved him. His infectious smile will always be remembered. He lived his life to the fullest and will be truly missed. As he would say, "Love life and live it!" 

A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by the Colonial Heights Chapel of the E. Alvin Small Funeral Homes.
