Robert David Simmons, 82, passed away on Sun. Feb. 16, 2025 in Brandon, MS. Visitation will be held on Fri. Feb. 21, 2025 from 5pm-7pm and on Sat. Feb. 22, 2025 from 9:30am-11am at Ott & Lee Funeral Home in Brandon, MS. Funeral Services are 11am on Sat. Feb. 22, 2025 at the Ott & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with burial to follow in the Fannin Baptist Cemetery in Fannin, MS.
Mr. Simmons was born in Webster Springs, WV on April 21, 1942 to the late Orval R. Simmons and Ella P. Brown Simmons. He moved to Harrisville, MS in 1996 after retiring from General Motors Company in Cleveland, OH after 30 plus years of service. Mr. Simmons was an active member and a deacon at Christ Way Church in Flowood, MS. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, gardener and enjoyed raising chickens. Most of all, Mr. Simmons loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his daughter, Sally Welch (James); son, Steven Simmons (Masami); step children, Ty Warren (Lindsay) and Pam Brown (Greg); 9 grandchildren, Ezekiel Young, Jedediah Welch, Austin Simmons, Anna White (Jeremy), Meg Brown, Peyton Brown (Hayley), Molly Hollingsworth (Barry), John Caleb Warren, and Matt Warren (Laura); 4 great grandchildren, Charlotte White, Emma White, Walt Brown and Caleb Hollingsworth; sister, Gatha Triplett (Donald); brother, Harlen Simmons (Ina) and a sister in law, Delcie Simmons. Mr. Simmons is also preceded in death by his 1st wife, Irene Hensley Simmons; 2nd wife, Doris Warren Simmons; sisters, Winnie Rutherford (Bruce) and Mildred Osborne (Ray); brothers, Oscar Simmons (JoAnn), Thomas Simmons and 2 grandchildren, Nathan Young and Emily Young.
