Robert J. Simpson, 82, of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on December 9, 2025. He was born on April 16, 1943, at the French Hospital in New York City.
Bob was the beloved husband of 57 years to Sheila Simpson. He is survived by his daughter Chapin and her partner Skeet, his son Scott, grandson Benjamin, six brothers and sisters, and 15 nieces and nephews.
A graduate of The Peddie School and Fordham University, Bob was a highly decorated veteran of the Vietnam War, receiving the Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, three Bronze Stars, and two Purple Hearts. Following his military service, he began his professional career at Johnson & Johnson. As a young entrepreneur, he founded Tri-Dimensional, a packaging company based in Moorestown, New Jersey. He concluded his career as a Petroleum Industry Consultant, frequently working overseas, including in Scotland. In addition to his industry work, Bob spent several years as an instructor at Michigan State University, where he taught Supply Chain Management.
Bob enjoyed golf, following Cleveland sports teams, and was an avid reader. His love and devotion circled his family, his friends, and his beloved dogs. Many will miss seeing him on his daily walks with them in the Village and local parks. Having lived in Chagrin Falls for over 40 years, the Simpsons' home was a welcoming gathering place for friends of all ages. Bob was always engaged and warm in their company, and the memories of these gatherings will forever warm his family's hearts.
A celebrated veteran, dedicated professional, and loving family man, Bob will be remembered for his intelligence, generosity, and steadfast devotion to those he loved.
