After returning from Vietnam, he married Judi Landis in 1972 until her death in 1994. Bob met Karen Stiller in 1998 and the two were married on January 10th, 2010.
Bob worked for Sealed Power for over 20 years and for Howmet until his retirement in 2010. Bob was an active member of the VFW, American Legion and the White Lake Eagles. He enjoyed fishing and long drives in the countryside which became known as Slocum shortcuts. Bob was an avid sports fan of all Michigan sports from professional and collegiate level to the local area sports teams. Bob thoroughly enjoyed giving back to his local community by donating to many local organizations and supporting community fundraisers. He had a unique sense of humor, and you could always count on him to be honest. Bob was loyal and supportive to all he knew and will be greatly missed.
Bob is survived by his wife Karen Slocum; His children John (Jessica) Slocum, Joni (Jason) McCollum, Jamie; His grandchildren Rachel (Balazs) Juhasz, Anna Slocum & Alex Slocum; 1 great grandchild; His siblings Steve Slocum, Deb (Don) Verwey & Paul (Kathy) Slocum; and many nieces and nephews.
Bob was preceded in death by; his first wife Judi Slocum; his parents Robert and Carmen Slocum; his sister Joni Slocum;and sister-in-law Paula Slocum.
A Celebration of life will be held at the White Lake Eagles1204 S. Lake St, Whitehall on Sunday December 21st, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 4:00pm.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in Bob's honor to one of his beloved organizations; WoundedWarriorProject.org, Noahprojectmuskegon.org, Moka.org
