Anthony Slocum Sr.

Anthony Slocum Obituary

In an old English Churchyard, there is this inscription: "Who plucked that flower?" Cried the gardener. His fellow servant answered, "The Master!" and the gardener held his peace. Once again without warning, death has plucked a flower from our garden, on November 7th, 2025, Anthony Slocum Sr. was called to his heaven's reward. Born in Marrero, LA., November 17th, 1965, to the parentage of the late Walter Slocum Sr and Murthia Grant Slocum. He confessed to Christ at an early age and joined the Sweet Rock FGBC in Oxford, AL in December 2001 and worked with the Audio-Visual Ministry until his health began to fail. He was a proud graduate of the John Ehret High School class of 1986. On an occasion like this, it's hard to express the deep feelings we had for one who was so beloved by all that knew him. He leaves to cherish his memory, Two sons: Anthony Shon Watson, Atlanta, GA and Antonio Slocum, Harvey, LA., One daughter, LaCheryl Slocum of Harvey, LA., a bonus son, Maurice Benjamin. Grandchildren: Ari, Kasya, Jasmine, Donovan and Shayla. Siblings: Walter (Jean), Kenneth and Calvin (Luciana), Eunice Harris, Shirley Jones, Linda (Clifton) Wise, Glenda Slocum, Shawanda Webber, Rhonda Johnson, Jeannie Harris, Brother & Caregiver of 18 years Cyrus Hill, serveral Aunts and Uncles. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Anthony Slocum Jr., brother, Melvin Slocum, sisters Marie Fraxier and Pearlie Briscoe. "To Live Is Christ. To Suffer is Christ. To Go Through Is Christ. But to Die is Eternal Gain!"
