Robert David Smith Jr.

Mr. Robert "Bud" David Smith Jr., 78, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday August 8, 2024.
A graveside service will be conducted on Monday August 12, 2024 at 2:00 pm in Pinewood Memorial Park with the Rev. Chris Williams and the Rev. Delmus Ayers officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:30 pm prior to the service at Wilkerson Funeral Home in Greenville, NC.
Bud, a lifelong resident of Pitt County, attended Chicod School. He served as a Deacon, Sunday School Superintendent and was a member of the Laymen's League at Ayden Free Will Baptist Church. For over 50 years, Bud was a licensed general contractor and co-owner of Smith Construction Company with his brother Jimmy. Known by many for his skillset in carpentry, Bud enjoyed giving back to the church using those skills whenever he was presented the opportunity. Bud was a dedicated "daddy" and later Papa to Noah both of which he took much pride in. Bud was also a loving brother and friend that will be missed by many.
Bud was preceded in death by his mother Mamie Ruth Boyd Smith, father Robert David Smith; brothers Floyd Lee Smith and Norman Earl "Pee Wee" Smith; and sisters Betty Rose Everette and Louise Frederick's.
He is survived by his daughter Monica Smith; grandson Noah J. Mills; brother Jimmy Smith; sisters Linda Williams and Judy Sugg and friend Darlene McRoy.
