Robert A. Smith (Bob), 87 of Thornton, CO died on May 18, 2025.
Bob was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle and a friend to many.
Bob was born in Pickaway, OH on August 10th, 1937 to James and Mildred Smith. James enrolled Bob in the miliary at an early age which developed his passion for military service. Bob served in the Marine Corp and the Army. He served in the Korean War and was honorably discharged.
Bob met the love of his life in 1964. They quickly fell in love while roller skating and were married in May 1965. They embarked on a 60 year marriage which involved living in multiple states before eventually settling in Thornton, CO. Bob and Elaine have four children, 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Bob will always be remembered for his service to his country. He had many talents which included Masonry work, upholstery, building boats and working on campers. Bob's love of his model airplanes and reading books will not be forgotten. Bob is at peace resting in the arms of his loving Heavenly Father. We will miss Bob and his memory will live on in the hearts of all those who loved him.
Bob is survived by his wife of 60 years Elaine; daughter Tina Riendeau (Mike), daughter Sherie Williard (DeVane), son Monty McLaclan (Nancy), and sisters Shelly Smith and Sondra Smith.
Grandchildren: Austin Riendeau (Lauren), Katherine Harris (Devon), Nick Riendeau, Zach Rouse (Tina), Noah McLachlan (Brooklyn), Maddie McLachlan; Chance Smith (Dan), Emma Smith, Hannah Griffin-Smith, and Tiffany Smith-Broderick (Jared).
Great Grandchildren: Landon, Hayden, Madeline, Cameron, Jordan, Natalie, Sawyer, Kailey, Zariah, Xaibians and many Nieces and Nephews.
Bob is preceded in death by his son Dalen Smith, parents James and Mildred Smith; brother Jim Smith and sisters Phyllis Weis and Carolyn Clark.
Memorial Service will be at 11:00am Monday, June 23 from the Chapel of Horan & McConaty, 7577 W 80th Ave, Arvada CO 80003.
