Robert Alan Smith, age 70, of Woodward, Oklahoma, passed away on October 5, 2025.

He was born on January 27, 1955, in Pampa, Texas, to Jesse Franklin Smith and Luetta Whitmarsh. He attended elementary and junior high school in Pampa and completed high school in Woodward, Oklahoma.

He married Dorothy Johnson on August 31, 1981 and they lived in Vici and then Woodward, Oklahoma. They had one son together, Steven Micheal Smith of Woodward, OK. Robert was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy.

He is survived by two sons from a previous marriage: Kenneth Malcolm Smith of Noble, OK, and Robert Alan Smith II of Norman, OK.

Robert is survived by five siblings: Kathy Powell of Seminole, TX; Darrell Smith of Arlington, TX; Gearry Smith of Amarillo, TX; Barbara Pinkerton of Bonner Springs, KS; and Susan Cunningham of Pinch, WV.

He is also survived by six granddaughters and many nieces and nephews.

Robert always looked forward to fishing and camping with his boys and they would often go trout fishing around Oklahoma lakes and rivers, taking most of their trips to Lake Watonga and Blue River in Tishomingo, OK. After retiring from nearly 30 years of working in the oil field for Key Energy, he often spent time knitting scarves and hanging out at the Moose Lodge, where he would volunteer his time and join in dart tournaments.

Robert will be remembered for his warm heart, strong work ethic and distinctive laugh that could often be heard before he was seen.
