Bob truly was a nice guy.

I worked as a technician at Soerens from 1999-2008 starting as an entry-level apprentice at 20 years old.

I remember Bob had a great reputation amongst the senior guys out in the shop. Even the battle-tested cynical guys spoke very highly of him and it was clear that he had earned their respect over time by being a good guy - definitely not the flashy "I'm the boss"-type that could be expected given his status/financial position.

During my first couple of weeks, he made it a point to come out and introduce himself to me as "Bob". That obviously left an impression as I was a nobody and he was a bit of a celeb at the time with his nice-guy commercials.

Soerens was a wonderful place to work with good people and a great culture - before that became a buzz-word/term. Cleary Bob hired folks like himself and earned the respect of his people and his loyal customers. I'd probably still be there had I not switched careers entirely.

My thoughts are with Stephanie and his entire family.
