OPELOUSAS- A Memorial Service will be held for Robert Soileau, on Saturday, October 12,2024 at 11:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel in Opelousas. A visitation will be held from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home Chapel. Rev. Frank Benny Reppond will conduct the service. Inurnment will be held at a later date.
Robert Soileau, born on December 30, 1949, peacefully departed this life on September 11, 2024. Robert was a cherished member of his family and a beloved figure among his friends. He embraced life with warmth and joy, touching the hearts of many during his journey.
Robert had a profound love for visiting with family. The bonds he built and nurtured were a testament to his character and spirit. These moments spent together brought him immense happiness and reflected his dedication to those he cared for most. His laughter and storytelling filled the rooms, creating memories that will be fondly cherished by those who had the pleasure of being in his presence.
An avid fan of wrestling, Robert found joy and excitement in the sport. He would eagerly share his thoughts on the matches and wrestlers with enthusiasm, turning even the simplest gathering into a lively conversation filled with passion.
Robert is survived by his sons, Robert “Bubba” Soileau and wife Mardana of Sunset and Jason Soileau of Opelousas; daughters, Tammy Houser and fiancé Wayne of Arnaudville and Mandi Young of Opelousas; brother, Larry Soileau of Bayou Vista; six grandchildren, Dylan, Carmen, Lexi, Ben, Isaac and Sierra; and three great grandchildren, Colby, Kyson, and Everly.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, George and Melia Franks Soileau; brother, George Edward Soileau; sisters, Elsie Roberie, Hazel Soileau, and Charlotte Fontenot; son in law, Richard Young; and Angel grandbabies; Alex and Sarah Young.
As we remember Robert Soileau, we celebrate a life filled with love, joy, and unforgettable moments. His spirit will live on through the stories shared and the memories created with family and friends.
