Robert Sorger Obituary
Robert Glenn Sorger (71) passed away peacefully on November 11th, 2023.
Born on September 12th, 1952 in Brooklyn, New York to Charles and Pearl Sorger.
Robert (Bob or Robbie, as he is more affectionately known by his friends and family) loved growing up with his eight brothers and sisters. In high school, his favorite pasttime was wrestling which led him to join the collegiate team at Gettysburg College where he was a big part of the fraternity, Sigma Alpha Epsilon and earned his degree in Physical Education.
After college, Robert left the Northeast for sunny Florida where he pursued a career in industrial pressure cleaning. The machines and technology at the time were very new to the world and Robert led the way...eventually opening his own businesses in the industry: Wash on Wheels and Wash America.
He loved sports, music ( Robert had a wonderful voice) and spending times with his men's group at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community.
Robert was a generous man with both his time and worldly possessions. He had a kind heart, gentle soul and was an exceptional listener when anyone came to him with a problem. He never forgot a birthday, anniversary or important date in the lives of his friends and family. You could count on a card from him for these life events like you can count of the sun rising. His family, friends and faith meant everything to him.
Robert was preceeded Heaven by his mother, Pearl; his father, Charles; and two of his brothers, Allen and Steven.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Lauren; his granddaughter, Riley; his brothers: Charles, Richard, Patrick and Michael; and his sisters: Barbara and Christine.
Funeral services will be held on December 7th, 2023 at Holy Name of Jesus Catholic Community: 3050 N Hwy A1A, Indialantic, FL 32903. A viewing will occur at 10:30 am, service at 11:00 am and a reception to follow.

I had no idea Robbie passed. He was one of my favorites brothers in law as I was married to his brother Steven. RIP Robbie.

I and everyone else from college are just learning of Bob's passing. It's been more than 45 years since I last saw Sorgie as we called him at Gettysburg. We met a few years earlier wrestling for the college and then becoming brothers at SAE. Shared rides back and forth to GBurg and home when wrestling over the holidays and once to and from Ft Lauderdale one spring break. There are so many genuinely great memories from those 3 years to know where to start. All and I do mean all bring a smile and there are literally hundreds of other brothers from SAE who would say the same. He was truly a great guy!
May he rest in peace knowing how many people will be reliving all their fond memories of him today and for many years to come. Thanks for the memories Sorgie!
