Robert A. Spangenberg, 85, of Sheboygan, passed away Tuesday July 9, 2024 at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center in Plymouth.
Bob was born December 5, 1938 in Appleton, the son of Harry and Dorothy (nee Monday). He served in the National Guard. On June 13, 1970, he was united in marriage with Betty Hodynaik in Sheboygan. He worked at Bemis for over 20 years as a truck driver. While at Bemis he was the President of Bemis Workers Association, helping to organize company picnic and other various employee activities.
Bob enjoyed traveling, bowling and doing yard work.
He is survived by children Dean Spangenberg, Roger (Kay) Spangenberg, Richard (Ann) Spangenberg, Charles Daniels, David (Cathy) Daniels and Troy (Doris) Spangenberg; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law Angela Daniels; brother Bruce (Paige) Spangenberg; sisters Sandy (Dave) Captain and Janet Spangenberg and other relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife Betty Spangenberg; son John Daniels; grandson Kyle Spangenberg; his parents Harry and Dorothy Spangenberg; step-mother Helen Spangenberg; aunts, Mollie Spangenberg and Matta Spangenberg.
A Memorial Service for Bob will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2024 at 11:00 am at Ballhorn Chapels Funeral and Cremation Care Center, 1201 N. 8th Street, Sheboygan WI 53081. Friends and relatives may greet the family on Thursday, at the funeral home, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
The family would like to thank the whole staff at Rocky Knoll Health Care Center for their kindness and care. Their care and compassion changed Bob’s quality of life. He thoroughly enjoyed the friendships and activities, especially the Veterans breakfast once a month. Also, the family would like to thank the staff and volunteers at Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice for making things very comfortable for Bob.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to cancer research.
