Rose Marie Holtz, age 69, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13, 2026. She was born on March 14,1956 in Sheboygan to the late Kenneth and Angela (Martiny) Kregel.

Rose was a hard worker all of her life. She earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from the University of Green Bay. Rose was an undeniable, die-hard Green Bay Packer fan. Whether she was watching them at her home or in the stands, she never missed a game. Her family remembers her amazing gift for crocheting, and cherished the memories of the beautiful blankets and special baby outfits Rose made for them over the years. She loved sharing her joys with all of her family and friends, especially at Christmas time when the family would gather together and celebrate. Memories of Rose’s beautiful decorations, how she made the Christmas Tree extra special with her garland and ornaments will surely live in their hearts forever. Rose and her soul mate Merlin would spend many evenings just relaxing in the backyard, Rose being near the campfire with her favorite glass of wine and Merlin at the fryer. She will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her.

Rose is survived by her soul mate of 32 years, Merlin Barts, her sons Craig and Brett Holtz, her grandchildren Jennessa and Vinny Holtz, and her siblings Linda (Paul) Vavra of Manitowoc, Cheri Ponath of Sheboygan Falls, and John (Marilyn) Kregel of Sheboygan Falls. She is further survived by her nephews Trevor Vavra, Paul Vavra, and Matthew Zeman, her niece Michelle Lewis, and Merlin's brothers and sisters, as well as other relatives and friends.

In addition to her parents, Rose is preceded in death by her sister Julie.

The family would like to thank Dr. Nikita Jain and all of the wonderful staff at the Sheboygan Cancer and Blood Specialists Center for their care and compassion for Rose and her family.

Per her family’s wishes, a gathering celebrating Rose's life will take place at a later date.
