Robert Spatz

Robert Spatz, affectionately known as "Buddy", passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with Alzheimer's disease, at the age of 75 on November 11, 2025 surrounded by his family.
A lifelong resident of North Bergen, Buddy was a devoted husband, father, papa, brother, uncle and friend whose love, laughter, and craftsmanship touched everyone who knew him.
Buddy was the beloved husband of Lynn Giottini Spatz, married for 46 years. Proud father to Leighanne Enriquez and Jillian Batista and father in law to Angel Enriquez and Steve Batista.
He was the cherished Poppa to his four grandchildren, Ryan, Mason, Jackson and Eden- who brought endless joy to his life.
He was predeceased by his loving parents, Robert and Margaret (Brannick) Spatz, and sisters Irene Papp and Carleyn Catone. Buddy is survived by his siblings Susan Spatz, Scott Spatz and his wife Kathy Spatz,Joy Pinto and her husband Jim Pinto,Kari Ann Spatz, and Michael Spatz and his wife Kristin Spatz, as well as dozens of nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Bud. He was also a dear and loyal friend to many, always ready with a helping hand or a good story.
For over 40 years, Buddy worked at Plescia Roofing, where his coworkers were his best friends and second family. Known for his incredible skill and work ethic, Buddy could build or fix just about anything- and he took great pride in his craft, occasionally driving past a building saying, I did that roof. He loved to ride his Harleys with his wife and friends, vacation with his family, build sandcastles, he loved being up the mountains, tending to his property, cutting grass, working on Jeeps and bringing old tractors back to life, and building something new every chance he got.
A true dog lover, Buddy always had a loyal companion by his side, and his gentle way with animals reflected his kind and gentle heart.
A cowboy to his core Buddy loved his country music, boots, hats and pearl snap button shirts. He was never without them anywhere he went. A wrench in one hand and a beer in the other. The memories we all have of him will forever live on in us, the stories and adventures are endless as well as the joy he brought to our lives.
Buddy's legacy is one of hard work, generosity, humor, and love. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
