Robert Sprude Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fischer Funeral Care & Cremation Services on Jan. 28, 2024.
Robert James Sprude, 31 of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away on January 23rd, 2024. Robert is a 2011 graduate from North Henderson High School where he was a varsity wrestler, cross country track runner, prominent chess player, and spent his weekend kicking butt at Smileys playing Magic the Gathering. He was a talented wrestler, in his youth, who never knew the meaning or the word 'Quit'. He had more heart and fight in him than anyone else.
He later attended University of North Carolina, Asheville, from there he followed his dream to Savannah, GA, and to his final home in Atlanta, GA. During his time in Atlanta, Robert was a general manager and events coordinator for Eddie's Attic and a server for Aria restaurant.
Robert lived by his own rules and heaven help you if you told him otherwise. He loved big and dreamed even bigger. There was never a moment you couldn't find him fidgeting with his own software and trying to find the latest advances either in music, computers, gaming, D&D, or social justice. My favorite oddity of my brother since I could remember is he liked to journal, but, of course, it had to be in his own secret language and with a hidden cipher. He could create and describe whole alternate universes to you and take you along for the ride. He was creative to his core and had a never ending hunger for knowledge. He dreamed of traveling and writing a book. He also dreamed of creating his own video game. He was always the smartest person in the room and was not scared to show it. He was confident, but humble, all at the same time. He had the best sense of style and, of course, throw in his staple point bulky framed glasses. I loved those glasses. They just framed the masterpiece behind them. His wheels were always turning and you just knew. There will never be anyone to compare. He was truly one of a kind and brilliant at it!
He is survived by his love, Taylor Rhew, his parents, Peter and Heather Sprude, his grandfather, George B. Duy, his aunt, Inta Sprude, his siblings, Alex and Anna Sprude, and his nieces and nephew, Bailey, Emelia, and Liam Sprude. His loss leaves a deep emptiness and he will be sorely missed which knows no bounds.
"You never said I'm leaving, You never said goodbye. You were gone before I knew it, And only God knew why. A million times I needed you, A million times I cried. If love alone could have saved you, You never would have died. In life I loved you dearly, In death I love you still. In my heart you hold a place, That no one could ever fill. It broke my heart to lose you, But you didn't go alone. For part of me went with you, The day God took you home." -T. Rowe

I remember the first time i met Robert, I worked at Jack in the Box, He was a very cool dude, and quickly he became a good friend. When he lived in Hendersonville with his family, i came by to visit with some other friends, and found out I knew his father, and had worked with him previously at Camp Judaea. Some time before he moved to georgia, i let him move in at my house for a while, and we had so many good times. I will never Forget Robert, he was intelligent, cool, kind, and always down for an adventure.
