Robert (Bob) Everett Stackpole of Naples, Florida passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 24, 2024, at the age of 93.
Bob was born on October 7, 1931, in Rochester, NH to parents Arthur and Arlene. He enlisted in the Navy at age 21 and was stationed at Sangley Point in the Phillipines where he served in the Korean War from October 1952 - to February1955. At the end of the war, Bob returned to Somersworth, NH where he helped his father on the farm for a short time before starting his own business in construction. He later met his beautiful bride Ernestine (Ernie), married 63 years, and raised their two children Susan and Jon (Jesse).
In the 1960s, Bobs love for real estate and travel led him to discover Marco Island, FL where they would explore and visit frequently. Bob excelled his career with the development of Riverwood Estates in addition to building their first home on Marco Island in 1985. Bob truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; fishing off his dock, boating and camping out on the Islands, traveling between their beautiful properties in Georgia and Florida, and spending time with loved ones. In the later years, Bob especially enjoyed making memories alongside his youngest great granddaughters, Charlotte Iannotta (8), Everleigh Iannotta (5), and Giulianna Iannotta (3). With arms wide open for the warmest hugs, his face would light up anytime they entered a room. Bobs ability to converse with others in a meaningful and authentic way was unmatched. In addition to sharing stories from his own personal experiences, he enjoyed chatting about current events no matter the topic and would strike up a conversation with complete strangers if given the chance. Bob loved hearing about others successes and never missed an opportunity to ask how someone was doing. His smile, enthusiasm, and genuine soul will be missed greatly by all who knew him.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents: Arthur and Arlene Stackpole, and the love of his life Ernestine Stackpole, whom he is now reunited with in Heaven. Surviving to cherish his memory are his son, Jon Stackpole of Naples, FL; daughter, Susan Dangas of Dover, NH; and sister, Ann Poisson of Tuftonboro, NH. He also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and numerous friends. To plant a beautiful memorial tree in memory of Mr Robert, please visit our Tree Store.
