Robert Frederick (Bob) Steinlauf passed away peacefully on June 15, 2024, in Tallahassee, Florida, at the age of 91. Bob was born on July 2, 1932, to parents Harry Joseph Steinlauf and Mary Gosfield Steinlauf in Manhattan Beach, New York. Bob graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial Management from the University of Maryland in 1954. He served in the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged in 1957 as a First Lieutenant. Bob resided in Fort Lauderdale and spent summers in North Carolina before moving to Tallahassee to be close to his daughters.
In his earlier life, Bob was a financial advisor in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. After retiring, he enjoyed fly fishing and hiking in Blowing Rock and Banner Elk North Carolina. He will be remembered for his dry sense of humor, his love of reading, and of the outdoors. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him and loved him.
Survivors include his daughters Suzanne "Sue" Megary (Scott), Andrea Steinlauf (Don), their mother Rochelle Steinlauf; his son David Steinlauf (Kelly); grandchildren Alec Doll (Emilie), Christian Doll, and great-grandchild Allie Jean Doll. He is preceded in passing by his parents, David's mother Mary (May) Steinlauf and his wife Elizabeth.
Bob's life will be celebrated privately by his family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Commerce Center for Compassionate Care - Big Bend Hospice.
