Robert Edwin Stevens

Robert Edwin Stevens, 87, of Fairmont, West Virginia, passed away on August 29, 2025, at the Tygart Center. He was born on March 28,1938, a son of the late Junior and Rebecca (Wilson) Stevens.

Robert proudly served his country in the United States Army Reserves. After the military, he worked for A&P Grocery, then he became a coal miner until he retired. Robert enjoyed gardening, hunting, and fishing.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of 63 years, Ellen (Moran) Stevens; one son, Robert Stevens II; one daughter Kimberly (Charles) Chipps; one brother, Roger (Pam) Stevens; and one grandson, Gunner Chipps.

He is preceded in death by one sister Beverly Elkin and her husband Joe.

Friends and Family may call at the Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant Street, Fairmont, West Virginia, on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm and on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A service will be held at the funeral home on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 1:00 pm will Pastor Bobby Bosler officiating. An interment will follow at Mt. Zion cemetery.
