Robert Wayne Stewart

Robert Wayne Stewart, 75, passed away at his home in Gautier, Mississippi, on November 6, 2025.

He was born June 7, 1950, and grew up in Columbia, Mississippi, before eventually settling in Gautier as an adult. Robert lived a simple, easygoing life and enjoyed the things that made him happiest—being outside, soaking up the fresh air, and spending time with the people he cared about. Every morning, he liked to sit outside and feed the squirrels, a small routine that brought him a lot of joy. Saturdays were his favorite days, usually spent around the table in his front yard, catching up with friends and barbequing. He was a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force and served time in Vietnam. Robert carried himself with quiet strength, and anyone who knew him would say he had one of the biggest hearts around. He never hesitated to help anyone, no matter what they needed.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, Benny Stewart and Patricia Ann Stewart; and his brothers, Joseph Stewart and Steve Stewart.

He is survived by his daughter, Patricia Celess Stewart of Ocean Springs; his sister, Barbara Ann Stewart of Columbia; and his brother, George Stewart of Columbia.

A service to celebrate Robert’s life will be held at a later date at Woodlawn Cemetery in Columbia, Mississippi.
