Robert "Bob" S. Strine, 85, passed away peacefully at his home in Reynoldsburg on May 30, 2025 after suffering from Parkinson's Disease.
Bob was born on November 1, 1939 Ashland, Ohio to the late Harold and Bessie (Sweeney) Strine. He was raised in a loving family with his three siblings in Ashland where he met and fell in love with his wife Sandy Nissen. They married and began their family in 1957. In 1966 Bob graduated from the Ohio State Patrol Academy. In 1970 his career brought the family to the central Ohio area, where they purchased their family home and raised their three children.
Upon his promotion to Lieutenant, Bob became head of the security detail for Governor Richard Celeste. He also served as security for various celebrities, including Bob Hope, when they were in performing in Ohio. He retired after almost 25 years of service in 1990.
Bob's life was based in service to his family, community, and Christian faith. He had the ability to fix almost anything in the house and was happy to share his skills with others, always willing to lend a helping hand. Bob enjoyed both performing and listening to music his whole life. His warm presence was a blessing to all who knew him and he will be greatly missed.
His spirit will live on through his family and others whose lives he touched. He is survived by his loving wife, Sandy; children, Anita Strine, Joel (Gwen) Strine, and Matthew (Melissa) Strine; grandchildren, Jenevieve, Joshua, Kyle and Jacob Strine; great-grandchildren; Kinsley, Karter and Blake Strine; and his sister, Elizabeth Fruth and many nieces and nephews.
Bob's family will receive friends on Saturday, June 28, 2025 at the Reynoldsburg Baptist Church, 887 Rosehill Road, Reynoldsburg, Ohio from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. His service will follow at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Greg Savage officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Bob's name to the Benevolence Deacon Ministry through the Reynoldsburg Baptist Church website.
