Robert Michael "Mike" Sturdivan

A service celebrating Mike's life will be at 1:00pm on Saturday, August 6th at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Edmond.
Robert Michael Sturdivan ("Papa Mike," "Sweetie," "Mike") was a friend to anyone he met. Mike lived a life full of love, laughter, and hope. He lived the Great Commandment to "Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and to love your neighbor as yourself." He was a friend to everyone he met. He encouraged everyone to be the best version of themselves possible and know that they were special and loved. His passing leaves a huge hole in many hearts including his family and friends, life-long friends Jim and Belinda Hasenbeck, and the many brothers and sisters in Christ from St. Luke's UMC, Edmond. He was an integral member of both the Men's Bible Study, Under Construction, as well as the Close-Ties Community Group. He loved spending time with family and friends, water-skiing at Lake Tenkiller, golfing with his daughter and all things related to the Bill Nicklas Junior Golf Association. He took the time to savor life's wonderful moments while making beautiful memories.
Mike entered his heavenly home on July 27, 2022. He was born March 6, 1951, in Prague, OK to Paul Gene and Betty Lou Sturdivan. He graduated from Prague High School in 1969 and went on to graduate from the University of Oklahoma with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration in 1973. He was employed at USA Digital as CFO at the time of his death, but his work did not define him. He married the love of his life, Tammy Lynn Anderson in 1983, and they built a wonderful life in OKC and Edmond, OK, and welcomed their only daughter Amy Claire Sturdivan Miller later that year.
Preceding Mike in death were his father, Paul Sturdivan, mother, Betty Sturdivan Friend, stepfather,
Vallis Friend, fathers-in-law Fred Anderson and Dennis Carr.
He is survived by his wife, Tammy, daughter Claire (Steven Brock Miller), granddaughters: Vivian (7), Lily, (5), parents: Lillie Sturdivan and mother-in-law, Barbara Anderson-Carr, sisters: Kay Bluethman (Randy), Terri Terrell (Randy), Teresa Prescott (David), brothers: Phil Sturdivan (Kim) and Randy Anderson (Jeanette), sisters-in-law: Jan Duncan (Scott), Kara Anderson.
A celebration of life will be Saturday, August 6, 2022, at 1:00pm at St. Luke's Edmond, 900 N. Sooner Road, Edmond, OK 73034. Reverend Josh Attaway will be presiding.
