Robert Neil Sullender, 93, of Anderson, passed away on August 27, 2025. He was born on April 11, 1932, in Marble Corner, Indiana, and resided most of his life in Anderson. Robert graduated from Milan High School, Milan, Indiana in 1950 and attended Indiana Business College. He began his career as a machinist in the Delco-Remy Division of General Motors in June 1950. He retired after 46.5 years of service there. From 1952 to 1954, he was stationed in Japan while serving in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Central Wesleyan Church where he served on the Executive Board, as Church Treasurer, and Sunday School Superintendent, just to name a few. Bob was known for his love of Southern Gospel Music and classic cars; but even more so, he was known for his love of family, friends, country, and especially sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ. Robert is survived by his loving wife of nearly 68 years, Carol (Dixon) Sullender, whom he married on October 25, 1957; daughter, Robin Gray; sister-in-law, Joy Sullender; nephew, Larry Sullender; and granddaughter-in-love, Bethany Hauth. He was preceded in death by parents, Honer and Anna Sullender; son-in-law, Royce Gray; brothers Carl and Charles Sullender; and grandson, Weston Gray. Throughout his life, he was well loved by a multitude of precious extended family and friends, including his very special neighbors, Bob and Bonnie Armstrong as well as Don Lott. Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 31, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at Loose Funeral Homes & Crematory in Anderson, Indiana. Service to follow the visitation at 3:00 pm, at the funeral home with Pastor Robert Pavey officiating. Burial will take place in the Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens in Mt. Juliet, Tennessee. www.LooseCares.com.
